SPACE
Space are a cult indie band from Liverpool who have been playing live since as far back as 1993. Originally made up of Tommy Scott, Franny Griffiths and Andy Parle, plus guitarist Jamie Murphy, they have put out many singles on labels like Hug Records, Gut Records and Universal including ‘If It’s Real’ and ‘Money/Kill Me’ as well as their first big hit ‘Neighbourhood.’ Of course, their most notable success was ‘Female of the Species’ and ‘The Ballad of Tom Jones’ (with whom they went on to work with in 1999). Making pop music with a sharp edge, they have put out albums such as their 1996 debut Spiders, then Suburban Rock ‘n’ Roll, and a US tour followed before the band split in 2005 and went on to work on various solo projects. Newly reformed in 2011, the line-up now features original members Tommy and Franny back together for the first time in 10 years. They were also joined by the other musicians from Tommy’s band Tommy Scott and the Red Scare including Phil Hartley on bass and double bass, Ryan Clarke on vintage keys and Allan Jones on drums. A sell out show at the O2 Academy in Liverpool followed, as did latest album Attack of the Mutant 50ft Kebab and many more dates around the UK. In 2016 the band announced they are working on a new album entitled Give Me Your Future with Steve Levine confirmed as producer. As such they are still very much in demand and hold a dear pace in the hearts of British indie lovers everywhere. Space are available for bookings worldwide excluding the UK.
