Sinbad

David Adkins (born November 10, 1956), better known by his stage name Sinbad, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He became known in the 1990s from being featured on his own HBO specials, appearing on several television series such as Coach Walter Oakes in A Different World (1987–1991) and as David Bryan on The Sinbad Show (1993–1994), and starring in the films Necessary Roughness, Houseguest, First Kid, Jingle All the Way, Good Burger, and Planes (2013). Achieving finalist status as a comedian on Star Search was the first step in show business for this successful star of TV and film. Sinbad appeared on The Redd Foxx Show (1986) and A Different World (1987–91) before working as creator, actor, and executive producer of The Sinbad Show (1993–94) on Fox TV. He hosted the series Vibe (1997–98) and has produced a number of TV specials. His film appearances include Necessary Roughness (1991), Coneheads (1993), Houseguest (1994), and Jingle All the Way (1996)
