Australian rock singer Shim found fame as the charismatic frontman of Sick Puppies, the post-grunge band who rose to prominence after the explosive success of their 2006 single ‘All the Same’. Voted “Most Electrifying Frontman in the World” by FUSE, Shim has enjoyed success as a solo artist since splitting with the band in 2014, releasing several new tracks in 2018 (including the groove-laden single ‘Hallelujah’) and his self-titled album SHIM. Shim was just 17 when he recorded ‘Nothing Really Matters’, a tune that beat thousands of entries to win the largest band competition in Australian history. In 1997, he formed rock band Sick Puppies in New South Wales, Australia with bassist Emma Anzai, quickly gaining popularity on the Sydney music scene before moving to Los Angeles. The band’s big break came when the video for ‘All the Same’, edited by Shim, went on to be featured in the Free Hugs Campaign, becoming the fastest-growing video in YouTube history and winning the Most Inspirational Video award at the first YouTube Awards. The track itself went on to reach No 8 on the US Modern Rock Chart. Riding high on the success of ‘All the Same’, Shim recorded three massively successful albums with the band before leaving in 2014 to focus on his career as a solo artist. Shim released the dynamic debut album SHIM in 2018, jam-packed with anthemic alt-rock tracks that touched the hearts of millions of fans worldwide, including the aggressive lead single ‘Hallelujah’, which recently won the HardDrive Radio Smash or Crash Award. Shim has a strong belief that music should be exciting at all times, and he continues to thrill audiences around the world with his engaging live performances.
