Rapper, singer and songwriter Pressa is one of the most dynamic artists to have emerged in recent years from the Toronto trap scene. Now based in Los Angeles, he is known for records including the Tory Lanez collaboration Canada Goose, the Russ and Taze joint project VidaLoca, and 420 in London featuring Lil Uzi. Born Quinton Armani Gardner, Pressa first gained attention with the release of the Murda Beatz-produced single Novacane and the viral success of record Deadmihana in 2016. He later found further fame through collaborations with Giggs, Houdini and K Koke, and reached a wider audience when he supported Drake on the rapper’s Boy Meets World Tour. In 2017, Pressa released the mixtapes Press Machine and Press a Brick, and later contributed to the 6ixBuzz compilation album 6ixUpsideDown and Uptop Movement’s team effort Northside Jane alongside many of Canada’s leading urban artists. In 2019, Pressa released his first studio album, Prestige, which debuted at No. 1 on Canada’s iTunes Hip-Hop chart, and features guest appearances from Lil Richie and Burna Bandz. Later that year, he worked alongside Taze and Russ on single VidaLoca, and in 2020 released the single Out The Mud. Pressa has appeared in 6IX RISING, a documentary about the Canadian hip-hop scene, and in Mustafa the Poet’s short film Remember Me, Toronto, and has been profiled in VICE and XXL Magazine.
