KYM MAZELLE
Kym Mazelle is an American vocalist who has lent her skills to many great tracks over the years. The American born singer is most often enlisted to lend her emotive vocal style to artists in the soul, house, dance pop and hi-nrg genres, and pioneered in Europe as a fresh new sound from the States, earning her the title First Lady of House. She has worked with top DJs like Pete Tong and David Morales, vocalists such as Jocelyn Brown, Chaka Khan, Nellee Hooper and Mick Jagger, bands such as Soul II Soul and even house legends Frankie Knuckles and Marshall Jefferson. She has also worked on her own hit singles, including ‘Useless (I Don’t Need You Now)’, which soon became a hit on club charts around the world, and the 1989 follow up, ‘Wait,’ which was a Top Ten success in the UK. Both were from her debut album, ‘Crazy’. A popular character on UK shores, Kym starred in Celebrity Fit Club on UK TV and has also been on Celebrity Weakest Link and Celebrity MasterChef on the BBC. Recently she has headlined gigs like Liverpool Pride, has been on The Voice UK on the BBC and has sung at events for Prince Charles’s Prince’s Trust Ambassador Ball In Glasgow as well as the MTV and MOBO awards. Not content with recording and performing live, Kym has also forged a career in musical theatre, including the West End Production of “Thriller Live”, “Smokey Joe’s Café” and tour production of “Ray Charles – I Can’t Stop Loving You”. With a unique voice and loveably character, Kym Mazelle remains a much loved vocalist, TV celebrity and all round star and continues to work on TV and radio as well as live performances around the globe.
