JUSTIN QUILES
Premios Juventud nominee Justin Quiles is a Reggaeton singer and songwriter. He performs his own music and also writes extensively for other artists. Born in Connecticut, Quiles spent much of his childhood in Puerto Rico listening to his older brother’s CD’s. These early influences include salsa and hip hop, and artists such as El General and Don Omar. He moved back to Connecticut to finish high school, but chose to start his career as a singer in his native country. He collaborated extensively with Genio and Baby Johnny before recording his first single Algo Contigo with producer Lelo in Orlando. In 2013, Quiles signed to Rich Music, which saw his music career take off. The first single he released on the label, Orgullo, reached the Top 20 in the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart. An album quickly followed in 2015, Carpe Diem, as well as another single Me Curare. The song was picked up by Colombian singer Maluma for a remix and reached number 7 on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart. Just a year later Quiles released his second studio album, La Promesa, which turned platinum in Spain and enjoyed time at the top of the Latin Rhythm charts. 2017 saw Quiles enter a new genre of Latin trap and become a nominee for Best New Artist at the Premios Juventud. He performed his single Egoista live at the award ceremony. Quiles latest track Quisiera was released at the start of 2020 and already has nearly 500,000 plays on Spotify. READ MORE
