Born into a family of celebrated musicians, it’s hardly surprising that Eva Simons has forged such an impressive career of her own in contemporary dance and pop music. Making a name for herself with propulsive solo tracks like ‘Policeman’ and features for chart regulars and Afrojack, Simons is well on her way to becoming a firm nightclub favourite. Born and raised in Amsterdam, Simons had her first taste of stardom on the reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals, leaving the competition as part of the successful five-piece Raffish. Simons decided to begin treading her own solo path and soon caught the attention of industry giant EMI when a demo version of her track Silly Boy was leaked to YouTube, generating rumours that it was unreleased material from either Rihanna or Lady Gaga. Working alongside fellow songwriter Mike Hamilton, Simons took an early version of ‘Take Over Control’ to Dutch DJ Afrojack in 2010, whose production saw the track leap to the top of the iTunes Dance Chart and reach platinum status in Australia. Her newfound platform brought Simons a variety of high profile opportunities, including a slot supporting LMFAO on their Sorry For Party Rocking Tour, an invite to contribute her phenomenal vocals to’s chart toppingly successful ‘This Is Love’ in 2012, and an opportunity to open for none other than Beyonce on the 2013 Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. In 2019, Simons continues to show just how comfortable she is riding a hefty house beat, devastating dancefloors in the process. ‘Like That’, released on EDM stalwart Spinnin’ Records, is currently racking up millions of plays on YouTube and solidifying Simon’s place among the most powerful voices in commercial dance music. .
