Erika Ender is the Panamanian artist behind the 2017 worldwide hit “Despacito”. Authored alongside Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, the song also inspired a remix from pop superstar Justin Bieber. “Despacito” has broken all records in music history and won several awards and recognitions, including the 2017 Latin Grammy for Song of The Year. Erika Ender, being the only woman involved, holds the most quantity of records broken as a female songwriter, as well. Besides “Despacito”, Ender has a long and successful career as a singer, songwriter, actress and producer, making a name for herself as one of the Latin music industry’s most recognizable well-rounded artists. Writing in Spanish, Portuguese and English, over 160 albums have been released with Ender’s songs and more than 40 singles have reached peak positions in global charts, recorded by stars such as Justin Bieber, Prince Royce, Daddy Yankee, Chayanne, Gloria Trevi, Luis Fonsi, Ednita Nazario, Gilberto Santa Rosa, among others, powering the careers of Latin artists across the continent. She’s not only a prolific composer, awarded and recognized by multiple prizes in the music industry, but also, a true pioneer: as the youngest inductee into the Latin Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, she is the only Hispanic female composer to top the Billboard Hot 100 with a Spanish-language song and the only latina ever to have a nomination for a major category in the Grammys. Ender released her studio album Tatuajes in 2017 to critical acclaim including a Latin Grammy nomination as singer-songwriter album of the year. As Latin music continues to gain recognition around the world, Ender is at the forefront of a wave that will see the genre dominate the global music scene in 2019. .
