His 1976 tracks, ‘This Moment In Time’ and ‘After The Lovin’ were warmly received and got plenty of airtime. In total, Engelbert Humperdinck has sold an astonishing 150 million records worldwide. Engelbert showed a keen interest in music from a very young age. Taking up saxophone lessons, he would practice in his room persistently for days on end. Ultimately, his perseverance was rewarded when he was given the opportunity to play in nightclubs in the early 50s. As for his voice, he did not discover this until he was seventeen. After performing a Jerry Lewis impression at a pub contest, his passion for singing was born. By 1958, at the age of 22, he was given the opportunity to record with Decca Records. Engelbert’s very first single to drop from this label was called, ‘I’ll Never Fall In Love Again’ and was the start of a long and fruitful relationship with the company.
