DAVE HOLLISTER

Dave Hollister is an American singer who rose to fame in the 1990s after forming part of four-piece Blackstreet. He went on to have a successful solo career, releasing eight studio albums over the course of two decades. Hollister first gained popularity after replacing Joseph Stonestreet in R&B group Blackstreet, which was formed in 1993. Their first single, Baby Be Mine, featured on the soundtrack of Chris Rock comedy CB4, and was quickly followed up by their self-titled debut album in 1994. The album spawned several hit singles, including Before I Let You Go, which peaked in the top ten. Follow Blackstreet’s release, Hollister parted ways with the band to embark on a solo career. His extensive catalogue highlights his unique vocal style, with offerings including his gold-certified debut solo album Ghetto Hymns, released in 1999. The album featured Hollister’s best-known single, My Favorite Girl, which peaked at number thirty-nine on the Billboard Hot 100. His sophomore album, Chicago ‘85… The Movie was released in 2000 and was subsequently certified gold. The album peaked at number forty-nine on the Billboard 200 and number ten on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts. Hollister’s full discography boasts the hard-hitting Things in the game Done Changed, Real Talk, The Book of David: Vol. 1 – The Transition, Witness Protection, Chicago Winds… The Saga Continues, and latterly 2016’s The Manuscript. Hollister has recently begun teasing new releases for 2021, with his expansive fanbase hoping for new music within the year. .
