As televised talent shows continue to grow in popularity, reaching audiences further afield than ever before, the sky has become the limit for young performers looking for their first big break. Pairing explosive stage presence and vocal talent well beyond her years to reach the finals of both ITV’s The Voice Kids and America’s Got Talent, Courtney Hadwin has earned herself tens of millions of YouTube views and major-label record deals with both Arista Records and Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment. Not bad for someone who hasn’t yet finished high school. Hailing from Sunderland, Hadwin displayed blossoming talent as a child, enjoying her first competitive success at Newcastle’s TeenStar, astounding judges with Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ and progressing all the way to the Grand Finals. Spurred by her success, Hadwin continued to finely tune her phenomenal vocal range and delight audiences in the tens of thousands, supporting disco giants Sister Sledge at only thirteen years old. However, it wasn’t until later that year that Hadwin would become a household name across the UK. Stunning McFly’s Danny Jones by performing a classic from Tina Turner, Hadwin reached the finals of The Voice Kids, setting herself up perfectly for stateside success the following year. Receiving the esteemed Golden Buzzer from judge and comedian Howie Mandel, Hadwin was catapulted into the highly competitive America’s Got Talent, an audition that has since been watched more than 50 million times on YouTube. More than matching show’s high-budget stage production with her powerful, evocative vocals, Hadwin once again made the finals, paving a path for multiple record deals and several live performances alongside eventual winner Shin Lim in Las Vegas. With Cowell’s support and direction, Hadwin is undoubtedly set to become a global pop sensation as she progresses into early adulthood. Watch this space. .
