Having won multiple BET, Billboard, Soul Train andAmerican Music Awards, Chris Brown is one of the most successful mainstream hiphop artists of the 21st century. Discovered at just 13 years of ageby a local production team who provided voice coaching and put together hisfirst demo, Brown caught the attention Jive Recordings who were on the lookoutfor the next Justin Timberlake. Jive released his self-titled debut album atthe end of 2005; the album was an overnight success, debuting at No 2 on theBillboard 200, selling over 150,000 copies in its first week and eventuallygoing double-platinum in the U.S. with over 3 million sales worldwide. Brown isn’t just notable for his music; in 2007 helanded his first significant TV role as the band geek in the fourth series ofhit American T.V. show, The O.C followed up by an appearance on the T.V. drama,This Christmas. His second studio album, released in 2007, reached the Top 5 ofthe Billboard 200 while lead singles ‘Wall To Wall’ and ‘Kiss Kiss’, the latterfeaturing T-Pain, became global smash hits. The following year his collaborationwith Jordin Sparks reached No 3 the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Throughout 2008the singer developed his acting career, guest-starring in Disney’s The SuiteLife of Zack & Cody before rounding off the year with an Artist of The Yearaward from Billboard Magazine. Brown scored two more hit singles with ‘I Can TransformYou’ and ‘Crawl’. However, it was the song ‘Deuces’ featuring Tyga and KevinMcCall that proved to be his most successful single to date; the song remainedat No 1 on the Billboard Charts for seven consecutive weeks. His fourth studioalbum became his most successful, debuting at No 1 on the Billboard 200 withits lead single ‘Yeah 3x’ reaching the Top 10 in eleven different countries. TodayBrown has had over 15 Top 10 hits in the U.S., with his most recent album Indigodebuting at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. .
