BIG BOI

Antwan André Patton is the American rapper, song-writer, record producer and actor better known by his stage name Big Boi, and best known as a member of internationally acclaimed hip hop duo OutKast alongside André 3000. Together with André, Big Boi has released six albums as Outkast including Idlewild and The Love Below. In that time the pair have also each worked on their own solo material, including Big Boi’s Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, which was released in July 2010 to the acclaim of fans and critics alike. What sets Big Boi apart from his peers is his lyrical wit and desire to comment on modern life in America, including scathing attacks on politicians, musings on Barack Obama and thoughts about the African American community. He has collaborated with Mary J Blige, George Clinton, Raekwon and many others in the past, but always it’s Big Boi’s lyricism and varied muscial style that shines through anything to which he puts his name. The hip-hop pin-up has also appeared in a number of Hollywood films (including Who’s Your Caddy and Idlewild) and has released a number of mixtape compilations as well as his own custom Chuck Taylor trainers with Converse and is also a registered pit-bull breeder! It’s his definitive hip hop beats, unique rhymes and unmistakable master of the stage and live performance, though, for which Big Boi is still most celebrated. .
