Alizée Jacotey is a French singer and dancer, born on Corsica. Following her musical collaborations with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, Alizee hit back with a series of albums that attained immense popularity, through pushing the boundaries of lyrical content found in mainstream music. Her tunes soon became a fixture on NRJ, Europe 1, MTV, Virgin Radio, and many, many more. During Alizee’s career, she has enjoyed many Top 25 hits, including “Moi… Lolita”, “L’Alizé”, “J’en ai marre!”, “Gourmandises”, “Mademoiselle Juliette”, “Parler Tout Bas”, “Les collines” and “À cause de l’automne”. Since entering the music business, back in 2000, Alizee has released 6 studio albums. Her debut record, titled Gourmandises, achieved platinum status just 12 weeks after its release. Following an international launch in 2001, Alizée became the highest selling female French singer of the year. The single from this LP reached number one in several countries across Europe and East Asia. In Britain, the song became a rare example of a foreign-language song to chart within the Top 10. In 2003, Alizee dropped a follow-up LP, Mes Courants électriques. Off the back of its success, Alizée toured Europe, playing 43 concerts throughout France, Belgium and Switzerland. Between 2003 and 2010, Alizee put out another two albums, which were highly praised by her fans. It wasn’t until 2013 however, that Alizee’s career really started to take off. After dropping her 5th studio album, Alizee was lucky enough to collaborate with Britain’s own Olly Murs, on his single ‘Dear Darlin’. Today, Alizée is one of the best-selling female French artists of the 21st century. .
