For more than three decades, Musician, singer and songwriter Alejandro Sanz has established himself as a master of Latin pop and ballads. Notable for his diverse musical style, which has won fans across the globe, his influences include genres such as flamenco, rock, hip hop and funk. Madrid-born Sanz played music from a young age, and released his first album when he was just 19. His second album, Viviendo Deprisa, found considerable commercial success in Spain, generating three No. 1 singles and going on to be certified nine times platinum. With the album 3, Sanz secured his international breakthrough, releasing the record in Spanish, Italian and Portuguese versions, and scoring his global hit with the single La Fuerza del Corazón. Over the years, Sanz has had nine consecutive No. 1 albums in Spain, and several times topped the US Latin and Mexican album charts. He was the first Spanish artist to release an MTV Unplugged live album, and has toured extensively in Europe, the United States and throughout Latin America. Across his career, Sanz has collaborated with many artists across different genres, including Nicky Jam, Camila Cabello, Emeli Sandé, The Corrs and Marc Anthony. He had a worldwide hit with Shakira in 2005 with the single La Tortura, and a Billboard Hot Latin Songs No. 1 with Looking for Paradise alongside Alicia Keys. He is the first Spanish musician to have given a lecture at Harvard University, and has received an Honorary Doctorate from Berklee College of Music. He is one of the most decorated musicians in Latin music history, having earned an extraordinary 17 Latin Grammy Awards and three Grammy Awards, as well as ASCAP’s Latin Heritage Award and the Lo Nuestro Excellence Award. .
