Singer Alejandro Fernández is a multi -Latin Grammy Award-winner and one of the most successful Mexican musicians of the past three decades. Across an extraordinary career, he has seamlessly moved between traditional genres such as ranchera and mariachi and mainstream Latin pop, and has sold tens of millions of records worldwide. Fernández released his debut self-titled album in 1992, which was nominated for a Lo Nuestro Award, and spawned hits including Necesito Olvidarla and Brumas. With this and his next few records, Fernández became known for a traditional Mexican ranchero sound. However, with the 1997 release of Me Estoy Enamorando, he transitioned into a pop style, experimenting with ballads and boleros, and finding even greater commercial success. The album landed at the top of the US Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts, earned a Grammy Award nomination, and gave him four consecutive Billboard Hot Latin Songs No. 1s, including lead single Si Tú Supieras, and the Gloria Estefan duet En El Jardín. His records since have enjoyed similar commercial success, including several more chart-toppers and multiple platinum certifications. Famous for his extraordinary vocal versatility, Fernández has continued to perform and record in a range of genres, and has duetted with other world-renowned artists including Marc Anthony, Christina Aguilera, Rod Stewart, Alejandro Sanz, Nelly Furtado, and Beyoncé. On screen, he played the lead role in historical drama Zapata: El Sueño Del Héroe, and he has also starred in the films Mí Querido Viejo and Todo Es De Color. For his music, he has won two Latin Grammy Awards and six Billboard Awards, has been inducted into the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame, and has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. .
