A BOOGIE WIT DA HOODIE

A rapper perfectly suited to the era of Future andDesiigner, Bronx-born MC A Boogie wit da Hoodie exploded on to the scene in2016 with a funked-up hybrid of trap and hip-hop. Sharing his music through hisown imprint Highbridge the Label, he found swift success with his debut mixtape,Artist, hitting the Billboard Top 100 with his first release and prompting amajor-label deal with Atlantic. Boogie followed this up with the hugelypopular, triple-platinum 2017 single ‘Drowning’ before his debut album The BiggerArtist shot straight to No 1 on the rap charts later that year. Born in the Bronx, Artist Dubose drew early influence from50 Cent and Kanye West, showing lyrical talent from an early age. Boogierecorded his first songs in Florida, before returning home to New York in 2015and founding Highbridge the Label, alongside fellow hip-hop artist Quincy“QP” Acheampong. His debut mixtape, Artist, produced the platinum-sellingsingles ‘Jungle’ and ‘My Shit’, heightening anticipation for the Don Qcollaboration ‘Bag on Me’ that followed a month later. Earning praise from MeekMill and DJ Khaled, Boogie soon signed with Atlantic before issuing the singles‘Bando’ and ‘Timeless’, and a follow-up EP entitled TBA. Boogie was featured in XXL’s prestigious Freshman Class in2017, before he had even released his debut LP. A testament to his viralpopularity, The Bigger Artist featured contributions from Trey Songz, ChrisBrown, Robin Thicke and Kodak Black. 2018 saw Boogie rhyme alongside Fetty Wap on6ix9ine’s smash-hit ‘KeKe’ before returning in June with his sophomore EP,International Artist, another star-studded release that boasted contributionsfrom Jessie Reyez and J Alvarez. Boogie’s second full-length album, Hoodie SZN,arrived in late 2019: with features from Juice WRLD, Offset and 6ix9ine, therecord debuted at No 2 before taking the No 1 spot on the Billboard 200 inearly 2019. .
