98 DEGREES

Rap and R&B group 98 Degrees are an acclaimed all-male vocal group, famed for their string of hit singles, worldwide tours and high-profile collaborations. Formed in 1996, they have sold over 10 million records across the world, and reunited in 2012 after a decade’s hiatus. 98 Degrees is comprised of Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre and brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, and is unusual amongst boybands in that the group formed independently before signing to a label. Working on their sound and image, they took early inspiration from the likes of Take 5 and Boyz II Men, and were soon signed to Motown, reflecting their R&B and soul heritage and songwriting skill. Their debut single, Invisible Man, reached No. 12 in the Billboard Hot 100, and was soon followed by further records and extensive international tour dates. Over the following years, 98 Degrees achieved significant commercial success and media attention. They duetted with Stevie Wonder, appeared in the animated Disney film Mulan, and were featured guests on the CBS special A Christmas to Remember. 98 Degrees earned four-times platinum certification with their second album, and struck the Top 5 with several singles including the No. 1 hit Thank God I Found You. The record, on which they collaborated with Mariah Carey and Joe, also earned them a Grammy Award nomination. The group went on hiatus in 2003 to pursue solo ventures, but announced a highly-anticipated comeback performance in 2012 after rumours of a reunion. They performed at Mixtape Festival and on The Today Show, and subsequently announced a joint tour with fellow boy bands Boyz II Men and New Kids on the Block. Since their reunion, they have released the albums 2.0 and Let It Snow, and headlined tours including the My2K Tour and An Evening with 98 Degrees. .
